Years 8 & 9 Academic Program
Following the Queensland curriculum review Shaping the Future and the Education 2010 documents, all year 8 and 9 students will follow a core curriculum. This will comprise the following learning areas:
- English
- Health and Physical Education
- Humanities
- Languages
- Mathematics
- Science
- Technology
- The Arts
Two teacher-selected classes are offered in year 8. Parents may also request that their child be considered for these classes. They are Language for Academic Success (LAS) and Pathways and Design (PAD). Studies in Language for Academic Success (LAS) and Pathways and Design (PAD) may be continued in year 9.
Lifeskills, encompassing studies such as human relationships education, family studies, work education, citizenship and ethics, is also compulsory in year 8 and 9.

- 20-11-2009 Graduation - Conventrion Centre, Great Hall
- 23-11-2009 Work experience week - year 10 & 11
- 25-11-2009 Year 11 block exams conclude
