Uniform

BSHS swimming costumes for boys and girls are available from the uniform shop. It is compulsory for all swimmers competing in the GPS/QGSSSA carnival to wear the school swimming costume and swimming cap.

Swimming shirts were new in 2000. These shirts will not change for at least five years so the shirt you purchase will last your whole time at State High. Uniform for all meets is sports uniform with swimming shirt.

Transport

Buses will be provided for some meets.

Transport to and from all other invitational meets within Brisbane is the responsibility of parents.

NOTE: Thursday sessions are COMPULSORY for all swimmers. These sessions will be followed by a sausage sizzle for all swimmers in attendance.

Training Requirements

Students must attend a minimum of 15 training sessions.

HOWEVER:

Students who are a member of a club must attend at least 5 school training sessions and show written evidence from their club that they have attended regular training in the lead up to the GPs/QGSSSA carnivals.

 

Students involved in other extra curricular school sporting activities that run concurrently with swimming must attend at least 10 training sessions with the swimming team. Please advise a swimming coordinator of your other commitments.

Forum

Meetings are advertised in student notices during form class.

Newsletters are published each week for both Boys and Girls Swimming. These can be collected from Swimming Coordinators.
